Our Child Safeguarding Framework

Adhering to international child welfare standards, TEN maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of child exploitation or harm.

Mandatory Background Vetting

All volunteers and interns must submit official criminal background checks from their home country authorities prior to placement confirmation.

Ethical Photography Guidelines

No photographing vulnerable children without school/guardian consent. No posting identifiable child location data or exploitative “pity” imagery on social media.

Professional Physical Boundaries

Volunteers must always operate in visible, supervised public classroom environments. One-on-one unsupervised private seclusion with children is strictly prohibited.

Mandatory Incident Reporting

Immediate reporting channels are maintained with TEN leadership, local school headmasters, and district child protection welfare authorities.

Ethical Framework

The 5 Principles of Responsible Volunteering

How Teach & Experience Nepal ensures our work creates positive, enduring, and ethical community outcomes.

01

School Needs First

Placements are created strictly in response to requests from local Nepali headmasters and community leaders — not commercial tourist demand.

02

Right Volunteer, Right Placement

We match your academic background, subject skills, and personal strengths to the specific grades and subjects where students need help.

03

Local Teachers Remain Central

Volunteers serve as collaborative co-teachers and resource persons. We never replace local staff or undermine local teaching authority.

04

Sustainable Knowledge Transfer

Volunteers develop reusable flashcards, classroom posters, and reading library corners that continue benefiting students for years.

05

Long-Term Relationships

TEN commits to multi-year partnerships with each village school, ensuring consistent, dependable educational support year after year.
