About Teach & Experience Nepal
Connecting international volunteers and interns with schools and communities across Nepal with purpose, respect, and authenticity.
Born From a Passion for Rural Education & Real Cultural Exchange
Teach & Experience Nepal (TEN) was founded to address a persistent divide: while Nepal welcomes millions of travelers who witness its majestic mountains, rural government and community schools often remain isolated from international learning resources, conversational language opportunities, and global exchange.
Too many international volunteer organizations operate as generic tourism agencies or “voluntourism” businesses — charging exorbitant fees while leaving little tangible impact in local communities. TEN was established on completely different principles: local leadership, child safeguarding, financial transparency, and genuine grassroots homestays.
Our Mission
To empower rural Nepali students and schools through interactive educational support, facilitate authentic cross-cultural understanding, and provide safe, ethical, and transformative volunteer and internship opportunities.
Our Vision
A Nepal where every child, regardless of geographic remoteness or economic background, has access to inspiring, holistic educational opportunities, guided by global citizens sharing deep mutual respect.
Core Values Guiding Every Placement
These 6 core values define how we operate, how we select partner schools, and how we support volunteers.
Community-First (Respect)
We listen to local teachers and village leaders first. Our presence is designed to uplift, not impose.
Mutual Learning
Volunteering is a two-way street. International volunteers learn resilience, culture, and hospitality from Nepali communities.
Child Safeguarding
Zero tolerance for child exploitation. We uphold strict vetting, screening, and international child protection protocols.
Integrity u0026amp; Transparency
Clear, upfront program fee structures with zero hidden broker costs. Financial resources directly benefit host communities.
Sustainable Impact
We focus on transferring teaching methodology, creating durable classroom materials, and building long-term school relationships.
Responsible Action
Volunteers co-teach with local teachers, never replacing local employment or disrupting cultural norms.
